Lessons in Strategy and Leadership
STEVE REDDY, Commercial Finance Manager, Safintra SA and SUPA-ROOF®
Restructuring wasn’t just a choice; it was a necessity for survival in 2024. We had to make strategic decisions to streamline operations, reduce costs, and maintain profitability. By cutting fixed costs, optimizing working capital, and restructuring the leadership team, we emerged stronger. Tough decisions like closing five branches were made, but they helped us stay lean and agile. Clear communication and empowerment were crucial. As we look to 2025, we’re focused on driving sales, enhancing service, and ensuring long-term success.
Steve highlights that one of their key achievements at Safintra South Africa during the restructuring process
was successfully closing ____________ out of their nine branches without negatively affecting their financial or sales models. (use words)

Effective leadership requires balancing strategic agility (adapting swiftly to change) and strategic consistency (upholding core principles).
Strategic leadership happens when a leader shares a vision and goal with their team and inspires them to work together to reach it. A strategic leader often acts as the motivating force for an organization, letting individuals know their role in achieving the vision. This leadership style helps others have direction at all times.
